Grass Roots Advocacy: Bankers & Legislators Connect at Gainesville Town Hall Talk
Bankers & legislators came together at the first Town Hall Talk, held last week at Peach State Bank & Trust in Gainesville.
“Nothing replaces grass roots advocacy. At the Gainesville Town Hall Talk, we visited with legislators and constituents in the field to address important issues facing both community banks and small businesses in North Georgia,” stated CBA President & CEO John McNair. “I am extremely proud that CBA of Georgia has organized multiple grass roots advocacy events across Georgia each and every year.
Many thanks to the state legislators that took the time to meet:
- Rep. William S. Wade
- Rep. Carter Barrett
- Rep. Emory Dunahoo
- Senate-Elect Drew Echols
Again this year, CBA has joined forces with National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for the Town Hall Talks, which are a multi-location grassroots alternative to a Day at the Dome for you to meet your legislators in person. These banker-only events offer attendees the opportunity to engage with legislators in a Q&A session and hear their perspectives on legislative issues that may impact community banks.
Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Town Hall Talks on August 29, 2024 in Byron and August 30, 2024 in Valdosta.
