The McNair Family is pleased to announce Gabe Elrod as the primary recipient of the 2026 McNair Family Scholarship.  An additional grant has also been awarded to Seth Gleason. The scholarship was established to support community bank employees pursuing higher education and recognizes individuals who demonstrate commitment, perseverance, and dedication to personal and professional growth.

Gabe Elrod attends South Georgia State College and is employed as a Teller with First National Bank of Coffee County in Douglas. He was sponsored by Stephen Lewis, President of First National Bank of Coffee County.

Seth Gleason attends the University of West Georgia and is employed as a Teller with United Community Bank in Jasper. He was sponsored by Daniel Lopez, Market President at United Community Bank.

The McNair Family Scholarship honors the legacy of Nicholas (Nick) R. Cimino, father of Lisa McNair. Awarded annually, the scholarship supports an adult learner currently employed at a Georgia community bank who is pursuing an associate's, bachelor’s, or trade degree. The $1,000 award is intended to help offset educational expenses, including tuition, study materials, and related costs.

“This year’s recipients exemplify the determination and work ethic that the McNair Family Scholarship was created to celebrate,” said John McNair, President & CEO of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia. “Pursuing higher education while maintaining a career in community banking requires dedication and perseverance. We are proud to recognize Gabe and Seth for their commitment to investing in their futures and wish them continued success in their educational and professional journeys.”
