Learn how to identify and mitigate the risk of a potential environmental risk associated with real estate that may be a part of a customer’s transaction.  Bankers will gain an understanding of environmental risk management, including guidance on the development of an environmental policy tailored to your loan portfolio.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Mark Faas is the Chief Executive Officer of Point to Point Environmental, Inc., an environmental consulting firm based in McDonough, GA that strives to provide turnkey environmental services throughout the southeast.  Mark has 24 years’ experience in environmental consulting and is proficient in conducting environmental assessments, monitoring and remediation of contaminated air, groundwater, surface water, soil, and soil gasses and vapor.  Mark also has extensive experience in completing subsurface investigations, environmental site assessments, managing environmental compliance and emergency response, and in resolving regulatory compliance issues.

Mr. Faas has completed environmental corrective action activities for over 1,000 hazardous waste and petroleum sites a variety of physiographic regions.

Mark graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. Environmental Health in 1999 and has continued his education and professional development at institutions including the Georgia Tech Research Institute and Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council.

Mark has been happily married for 24 years and lives in a joy filled home with his 6 children.  Mark hopes that competitive swimming with his children and volunteering as a teen Sunday school teacher will keep him young enough to still wrestle with his youngest children for another decade or two.
