David Black to Represent Georgia on Friends of Traditional Banking (FOTB) Board

David Black, Chief Commercial Officer at Georgia Banking Company, has been named Georgia's representative on Friends of Traditional Banking's (FOTB) Nationwide Banker Board. Previously, David served as the Chief Risk Officer at GBC, and prior to joining GBC in 2021, he was the Chief Risk Officer at Cadence Bank, which acquired State Bank and Trust Company in 2019, where David served as Chief Credit Officer. 

Prior to State Bank, David was the Director of Corporate Strategy at First Horizon in Memphis, TN, and held various leadership roles in Finance and Corporate Development at Wachovia Corporation in Winston-Salem and Charlotte, North Carolina. 

He started his banking career with SunTrust Bank in Atlanta. David serves on the Executive Committee of Board of Trustees for the Georgia 4-H Foundation, and previously served on the Board of Governors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. David earned both his BBA in Finance and MBA from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.
