Local Advocacy in Action: Bankers and Legislators Engage at Town Hall in Byron

Advocacy Update, CBA Today eNewsletter,

Last week, another successful Town Hall Talk took place in Byron at Uncorked by Georgia Bob’s, where bankers and legislators gathered for meaningful discussions.

“Grassroots advocacy is irreplaceable,” said Lori Godfrey, EVP of Government & Regulatory Relations at CBA. “At the Byron Town Hall Talk, we had the opportunity to connect with legislators and banker constituents to tackle critical issues affecting both community banks and small businesses in that area. I’m thankful to the legislators and bankers for their participation in CBA’s grassroots advocacy events across the state.”

Many thanks to the state legislators that took the time to meet:

  • Rep. Shaw Blackmon, 146th District, Republican, Chairman: Ways and Means
  • Rep. Mike Cheokas, 151st District Republican, Chairman: Small Business Development
  • Rep. Dale Washburn, 144th District, Republican, Banks & Banking Committee Member
  • Rep. Noel Williams, 148th District, Republican, Chairman: House Banks & Banking
  • Sen. Larry Walker, 20th District, Republican, Chairman: Senate Insurance and Labor
