Georgia Banking Company, Atlanta, announces the bank’s partnership with Georgia Gwinnett College to provide scholarships to students studying exercise science and wellness. Read the press release.

The team at American Commerce Bank was busy last week gathering donations for both South Georgia and North Carolina. The West GA folks worked with Southwire to fill a truck with supplies headed to South Georgia while the Johns Creek team worked with the Alpharetta Rotary Club to collect supplies for North Carolina.

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the team at Georgia First Bank, Soperton, stepped up to help with relief efforts of those affected.

In two days, through efforts put together by The City of Hawkinsville, Pulaski County and the Hawkinsville-Pulaski Lions Club numerous donations were collected for hurricane victims. This collection was made possible by Way Brothers, SunMark Community Bank, Planters First Bank, La Cabana Mexican Restaurant, Hawkinsville Food Lion,  and Jeffery Hulette.

As our region begins to heal from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we know that many of our friends and neighbors across Georgia and the Southeast are still facing tough times. Last week, team members from Colony Bank were grateful for the opportunity to lend a helping hand by distributing hot meals in Douglas and Valdosta. Over three days, they served nearly 2,000 meals to those in our communities.

The Citizens Bank of Cochran & Community Bank of Dublin-Laurens County, hosted a class last week for the community on “Taking  Action against Scams and Fraud.”
