Community Bank Learning & Development – ICBA Live!
I am thankful for the opportunity to celebrate the vibrant community banking industry by getting to participate in ICBA Live, a convention for community bankers across our nation. The “light the fire” agenda was jam packed for learning, networking, and filling your tool belt with new resources. The ICBA Live learning labs included topics around digital transformation & innovation, growth & marketing, lending & deposits, management & strategy, risk, regulations & exams, and workforce development. To highlight one area of learning focus for me personally, would be to remind us of the importance of People. It seemed every session I attended, people and culture were a point of focus. Why? When planning any strategy for an organization, for there to be success, the people are who get the job done. Which of these areas is your bank focused on for 2023? What are you doing to ensure your people and culture are top notch to support the initiative? How can CBA of Georgia support these strategies? We serve you, our stakeholders by providing advocacy, professional development, and member services. Call your team, we are your people, who work to support your success.
Stop and take time to hear from ICBA’s new Chairman, our very own Derek Williams, President/CEO of Century Bank & Trust. The meaningful words Derek shares reminds us that our profession matters and the principle that sets us apart is, “passion for people!” |
As your learning and development practitioner, I encourage you to consider attending ICBA Live March 14-17, 2024 in Orlando.
We are geared up with multiple sessions to benefit your talent management and people initiatives. Join your fellow HR professionals at this year’s Human resources and Talent Development conference on the beautiful Jekyll Island May 15-17. Conference topics include: Talent/Labor market update, legal update, community banker core competencies, individual development planning, table top exercises & round tables, retention & recruitment strategies, personnel policies, HR strategies and best practices.
